Burnham-on-Crouch is a small town on the river Crouch in Essex. The river has always had a great influence on the town, from the fishing and oyster farms of the past, to the sailing holidays and river cruises of the present day. Two trips in particular stand out, one takes you upstream to Battlesbridge, the other river cruise goes out to the sandbanks where you can view the seals at play. Since the marina was built, the town attracts hundreds of sailing boats in the summer and is a popular port of call for those on a sailing holiday. All these pictures were taken recently during the height of summer in this beautiful coastal town. You can clearly see why this town is such a popular tourist destination and also known as "the pearl of the east coast". Some of these images were featured in "Essex Life & Countryside" magazine.

St Mary's Church in Burnham is one of the oldest buildings in town and parts of it date back to the 14th century. Burnham also has its fair share of new houses, many of which are occupied by very keen gardeners.
